    The new Linux version of Zserver Storage 2.0 for Linux has been announced recently by Zecurion, Inc. The new solution prevents loss or theft of corporate information via transparent encryption of data on hard drives, disc arrays (RAID in any configuration), and in storage area network (SAN) archives. Zserver Storage 2.0 for Linux guards hard drives with Linux OS 2.6 kernel. The new version is compatible with the majority of popular Linux distributions such as SuSE, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Fedora, Mandriva, ALTLinux, Debian, Gentoo, Slackware, etc. Another gain of Zserver Storage 2.0 is administration from a centralized console (Zconsole) that is used for managing all Zecurion products.

    The company is an expert in protection of corporate data from internal threats, emphasizing reliable and transparent server storage/backup security, and control of peripheral devices in corporate networks with clear, easy-to-use administrative interfaces and tools. Leveraging over 10 years experience in creating encryption-based security solutions, Zecurion offers the possibility to efficiently protect corporate data from internal threats, as well as from loss or theft of backup storage media with Zlock and Zserver Suite software products.

    Alexey Raevsky, CEO of Zecurion, stated: "This new version is much better suited for working via user-defined scripts, therefore Zserver Storage 2.0 can be used in any server environment. These scripts allow for connecting and disconnecting devices and file systems, starting and stopping services and processes, and sending email notifications to the administrator."

"Encrypt Backup Tapes and (Possibly) Mass Storage. Gartner analysts highly doubt that many of the reported lost backup tapes containing consumer records eventually result in fraud. However, because there is no way to know for sure, companies have to assume exposure anyway. Encryption can ensure that the data will still be safe".

    Corporate server storage and backups accumulate financial and other sensitive data together with client personal information, which makes data storage safety business-critical. Recent legal regulations raise the urgency of this problem even more. Usual network perimeter security systems such as firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) cannot prevent threats of physical access by unauthorized employees, as well as loss or theft of the media.

Zecurion Zlock and Zserver Suite software products adress:

    * Zlock allows for the full and flexible control of all computer ports and peripheral devices on the network;
    * Zserver Suite is backup and server storage security solution based on transparent data encryption.
