The provider of Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM) online survey software utilities and marketing research services, Vovici, has released important product enhancements in terms of usability and survey creation time to its Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM) Continuum solution.
Challenges and issues such as complex mailing list creation, data mapping, analysis, and campaign creation further intensified user dissatisfaction. Outdated web techniques and solutions have long since caused customers to feel frustrated by the survey/feedback process and interface design. To fix these problems, Vovici turned to their clients to gain insight into the users' pain points when employing online survey software utilities.
Dean Wiltse, chief executive officer of Vovici, stated: "It was Vovici's goal to make survey software and feedback management tools usable at any level of technological prowess. Our online survey solution needed to be simple enough for a first-time user yet powerful enough so that it satisfies the needs of feedback savants. By first seeking out and then utilizing our customers' feedback, we are able to continually provide the cutting-edge products our clients have come to rely on within their own organizations."
By making all of the UI controls visible at all times, users have the possibility to avoid scrolling through the page to get to an actionable item. Tested against WebSurveyor 5.8, users found the newly re-designed user interface (UI) of EFM Continuum reduced survey creation time and gave them the possibility to keep full UI control at all times. Testers using EFM Continuum gave the software a 1.6 out of 5 for usability, with 1 being easy to use and 5 being difficult to use. In contrast, WS 5.8 scored a 4.3. The time needed to create surveys, mailing lists and campaigns also lessened considerabli, with decreases of 20%, 30% and 45% respectively.
To help users navigate a wealth of survey and feedback options, the new design of EFM Continuum includes pop-up modals and tab control metaphors. Even more, a detailed online help system with over 180 topics searchable by keywords or natural language is now disponible. To further enhance the user experience, a cleaner interface and the ability to preview questions were also added. Finally, the product's backbone was moved to a .net 2.0 framework and includes Ajax controls, giving the web-base survey tools the feel and stability of desktop-based program.
