    Elektron 2.0 is the major upgrade to the award-winning RADIUS server software for securing Wi-Fi networks. Periodik Labs (www.periodiklabs.com) announced the release recently. The company provides enterprise-grade security to Wi-Fi networks of all sizes, with its emphases on strong security and ease-of-use. This latest release of Elektron adds important new functions to the popular RADIUS server, remote monitoring via SNMP, including support for Cisco's EAP-FAST protocol, enhanced authorization, and multiple domain authentication.

    Elektron is ready for purchase and download from the Periodik Labs website at a price of $750.00 per server. There is no limitation on the number of clients served nor any additional per-client fees. Elektron version 1.x licensees may upgrade at a price of $225.00, while Elektron licensees with a current maintenance contract may upgrade at no charge. Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X Wi-Fi users need no additional programs to connect to an Wi-Fi network secured by Elektron. This saves organizations the expense of per-client application licensing. Elektron is functionable for both Mac OS X and for Windows servers. Version 10.3.9 or later is required for Mac OS X hosts; for Windows hosts, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003 is required. Wi-Fi hardware supported by Elektron includes most access points and client adapters that have been declared Wi-Fi Certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This includes popular hardware from manufacturers like Linksys, D-Link, Netgear, HP, and Cisco, as well as Apple products like the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express base stations.
