SPAMfighter was honored in the May 2008 issue of PC World as one of the “101 Fantastic Freebies.” The article, which features the editors’ top 101 picks of online services and downloadable software in various categories ranging from Security to Video and Photo, and provides information to help keep you secure, productive, and entertained, is live at http://www.pcworld.com and will be available on newsstands April 15.

Downloads or services named to the “101 Fantastic Freebies” list were chosen by PC World editors based on design, features, and performance. Each product had to be a fully functioning version consumers can obtain at no cost.

Managing Director of SPAMfighter North America, Alix Aranza, commented: “SPAMfighter is proud to be recognized by PC World as the only anti-spam security software. With more and more spam mail being sent daily, it’s important for e-mail users to be protected against spam, phishing and other e-mail threats. SPAMfighter’s free spam filter educates and helps world wide users to protect their e-mail accounts from becoming victims of cyber crime”.

To create a unique community spam filter, SPAMfighter has partnered up with Microsoft. SPAMfighter empowers a community of over 4.7 million e-mail users worldwide to stop the latest forms of spam. SPAMfighter users can, when a new spam outbreak occurs, to report it with a click of a button. Once an e-mail has been reported enough times, it is stopped for the rest of the SPAMfighter community, filtering around 95% of all spam mail for each SPAMfighter user.

VP/editor in chief of PC World, Harry McCracken, said: “Each download or service on the list impressed the editors with its functionality and usability”. “These are some of the most well-crafted services available - congratulations to SPAMfighter!”

SPAMfighter is Europe's leading spam filter developer. The Danish company is owned by Henrik Sørensen and Martin Thorborg, the founders of Jubii.dk, together with Daniel Hjortholt and Martin Dyring, two programmers. SPAMfighter employs 35 people and is based in Copenhagen. SPAMfighter North America is headed by Alix Aranza and is based in Boca Raton, Florida.
