Threat Central - Phishing Alerts Scam Alert Central automatically analyzes threats and calculates risk levels. This process takes place in real-time, providing you with the most updated and accurate protection available.
Webopedia defines phishing as "The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft."

About Scam Attacks
A scam website is a website or web page that is designed to look like a legitimate business web site, like a bank or online auction company, or online payment services that exist to steal personal login, password and account information.

Threat Central(tm) and CyberDefender's Collaborative Internet Security Network(tm) together form a seamless adaptive network technology providing all CyberDefender users with anti phishing Scam Alerts warning them about new phishing scams. Threat Central automatically analyzes threats and determines whether the phished site is an active scam or an inactive scam. An active scam is one in which the offending website is still active, while an inactive scam is one in which the offending web site is not active but still being monitored. Many phishing sites cycle between active and inactive – sometimes daily, in an effort to avoid detection by Internet Service Providers. Because of this, the CyberDefender Threat Central phishing threats are dynamic, adjusting in real-time as each threat evolves, providing users with the most updated and accurate protection available.
