The two companies that have delivered an integrated solution that provides customers with greater flexibility and control in managing the removable media devices across their enterprise, signet a partnership agreement to respond to customers growing concerns with data leakage. They can now effectively manage endpoints using device-specific access policies. ControlGuard is a leading provider of endpoint security and PGP Corporation is a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions.

Steve Schoenfeld, vice president of products, stated: "PGP Corporation is committed to delivering robust, scalable security solutions that today's enterprises expect and demand. Integrating PGP Whole Disk Encryption with ControlGuard's granular port and device control technology extends the value of the PGP Encryption Platform and platform-enabled applications, enabling customers to prevent and alleviate the costly consequences of lost or stolen portable storage devices. We're pleased to work with ControlGuard to deliver this market-driven functionality."

The new solution combines PGP® Whole Disk Encryption with ControlGuard Endpoint Manager. PGP Whole Disk Encryption provides comprehensive, non-stop disk encryption, enabling quick, cost-effective protection for content. The application leverages the PGP Encryption Platform for central management from a single administrative console, ensuring consistent policy enforcement and lower IT operational costs. ControlGuard's Endpoint Manager is an enterprise-grade solution for controlling, monitoring and logging how information is downloaded and uploaded to endpoints, in order to prevent information leakage from PCs and laptops. It secures the use of removable media and portable storage devices by defining and enforcing endpoint data protection policies, monitoring and auditing endpoint activities, and providing flexible access rules as well as USB lock and device lock capabilities. Combined with PGP Whole Disk Encryption, ControlGuard's endpoint security technology provides unprecedented granularity of encryption policies that not only control and monitor what kind of devices and removable media can be used, but also guarantee that unprotected devices and media will not be used.

David Raanan, general manager at ControlGuard, stated: "Portable platforms and removable media remain at the heart of today's enterprise security concerns. By teaming with PGP Corporation, we are able to combine two leading technologies to offer companies the best possible solution for controlling, monitoring and enforcing the policies that will keep data safe."

Using a unified key management and policy infrastructure, the PGP® Encryption Platform offers the broadest set of integrated applications for enterprise data security. PGP® platform-enabled applications allow organizations to meet current needs and expand as security requirements evolve for email, laptops, desktops, instant messaging, PDAs, network storage, FTP and bulk data transfers, and backups.
