The release of the NetStor WSS Quad Core network attached storage solution, featuring the powerful Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.0GHz CPU was announced by a subsidiary of Alanco Technologies, Inc., Excel Meridian Data, Inc. (EMD).With NetStor WSS R2 always beeing the top seller in the EMD storage lineup, the addition of the Quad Core performance with no price increase, will continue that trend. With an assortment of compatible RAID storage arrays offering SAS, SATA, and FC storage connectivity, the WSS NAS ‘header’, powered by the Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2, is the core of the solution. The WSS, scalable to 128TB capacity per NAS, offers customization options to meet virtually any need.
Its ability to remotely operate via Ethernet with IPMI 2.0 (KVM over IP) remote server management is enhancing the performance of the NetStor WSS Quad Core. This allows users remote access and control of all aspects of the WSS via Ethernet connection.
