The latest delivery method for IT training, known as "Jam Sessions," has been introduced recently by WestLake Training and Development, the premier IT company offering Web application development training.
Charlie Fink, vice president of training and delivery for WestLake, stated: "We've traditionally been big believers in the instructor-led experience when it comes to Web application development training, but there's definitely something to be said for the efficiencies of asynchronous training and self-paced study. Our new Jam Sessions combine the two delivery methodologies nicely by giving students upfront live IT training, self-paced labs and exercises, and instructor follow-up to be sure self-paced work is completed correctly."
All Jam Sessions from WestLake have a short, instructor-led virtual classroom sessions that may be held on specific topics at any time during, before, or after the business day. These IT training sessions are followed by lab-intensive, self-study segments that students may finish at their own pace and during their own time. Once the self-study is completed, the instructor offers another live, virtual two-hour recitation to evaluate the students' work, answer questions and clarify concepts.
In addition, Jill McKay, WestLake's vice president of business development, stated: "We've seen situations where clients are reluctant to take their people away from billable work or deadline-driven deliverables to attend several days of IT training. What we have with Jam Sessions, however, is a true blended learning solution that combines self-paced training with very effective instructor-led sessions. This approach keeps students billable and meeting their deadlines but still makes time for important Web application development training."
Mark Rogers, president of WestLake, said: "Our largest client, Lockheed Martin, asked us to provide live instructor-led virtual training several years ago, back when no one else was doing it. Because of all the experience we have accrued between then and now, we feel that we are better at delivering this type of Web application development training than anyone else in the industry."
The company was founded in 1995 and is concentrated exclusively to Web application development training. The company brings a variety of Web development classes at its training facilities in Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; San Jose, CA; Chicago, IL; Dulles, VA, with its headquarters just blocks away from the White House in downtown Washington, DC. Additionally, WestLake offers dedicated private training to corporations, government agencies, and not-for-profits throughout the country and around the world.
