The creation of Heracles Research Corporation - a new joint venture to develop technology to fight internet fraud has been today announced by a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, PhatWare Corporation, and a British internet security technology company, First Cyber Security Limited.

The initial Heracles product will use patented core technology from First Cyber Security under license, which has been developed over the last four years. To begin beta testing during the next quarter, this unique product, will significantly alter how e-mails are perceived, valued, and validated. There will be two versions in which the first version of the software will come: client-side for Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later and server-side for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The software will verify all URLs in each received email message and filter emails containing links to fraudulent web sites. The product will be extended, in the future, to support other email client and server applications and platforms.
