A 5GB WebAdvanced storage plan is now disponible for $8.95/month with unlimited uploads and downloads. Web backup company FilesAnywhere.com announced yesterday the new storage plans for its online file storage service. In addition to backup and file sharing, users can also easily access files online at FilesAnywhere, like a virtual hard drive. Other storage plans were introduced including new high-capacity plans ranging from 100GB to 500GB. All storage plans are purchased and activated directly online at: www.FilesAnywhere.com

They come with an assortment of advanced features, including automated computer backup, permission-based folder sharing, local-remote synchronization, file sharing to guests, SecureFTP (SFTP) access and secure, and direct WebFolder (WebDAV) access to information with no software to install.

The company also raised the storage for its WebAdvanced multi-user accounts. WebAdvanced Workgroup plans, beginning at $13.95 for two users, now come with 5GB storage. Workgroup users can be added to any plan for $5/month. In addition to standard features, users in FilesAnywhere Workgroup plans get the Online Document Viewer, permitting immediate online viewing of Microsoft Office documents and PDF files without any downloads. Workgroup plans also recieve the Media Streaming feature, which automatically generates streaming content by simply uploading video or audio files.

They announced that the company has finished a big upgrade to its data center and storage architecture, supporting its new high-capacity plans. The new architecture offers unlimited storage and user scalability. Included in the new platform is a clustered storage system from Isilon Systems (Nasdaq: ISLN), offering the highest levels of data safety and automated data management. FilesAnywhere also boosted file transfer performance with all plans, adding multiple fiber-optic Tier 1 connections to the Internet. With these changes, FilesAnywhere now supports individual client transfer speeds up to a full 1 Gigabit per second (1,000,000 kbps).

The company made headlines in 2006 when Mark Cuban made public the ownership in the private company. With its first version released in 1999, FilesAnywhere.com is one of the original online file storage sites, offering web-based file storage, computer backup and file collaboration for consumers and corporate users. FilesAnywhere provides backup and online file collaboration for both consumer and corporate user. The service has won praise over the years from industry reviewers and magazines, most often from the website’s user-friendliness and the number of online features that come standard with all plans. FilesAnywhere plans begin at $3.95, with 5GB WebAdvanced plans starting at $8.95 and Workgroup plans from $13.95. FilesAnywhere Private Sites start at $99/month for company-branded collaboration portals.
