Connectport(TM) X4 Provides Cost Effective IP Connectivity to Zigbee/802.15.4 Device Networks Using Cellular, Wi-Fi or Ethernet

ConnectPort X4, introduced by Digi International is a cost effective wireless gateway designed to link ZigBee/802.15.4 device networks with IP networks over cellular, Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections. ConnectPort X4 is the latest addition to Digi's Drop-in Networking product line, a combination of hardware components and software tools for network-enabling commercial grade devices where wired infrastructure does not exist or is nor satisfying for customer needs. The multi-function ConnectPort X4 provides ZigBee-to-cellular, ZigBee-to-Wi-Fi or ZigBee-to-Ethernet connectivity.

The ConnectPort X4 provides full network flexibility including ZigBee/802.15.4, cellular, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. It supports a broad set of cellular options including HSDPA, Edge, GPRS, 1XRTT and EV-DO. In addition, the ConnectPort X4 features a USB port for expanded connectivity to devices like Digi's Watchport(R) camera. Another model is  offered that features an industrial grade NEMA 4/IP66 enclosure with Class 1, Division 2 certification for outdoor applications like tank monitoring, precision irrigation control and automated metering infrastructure (AMI).

Similar to all ConnectPort X products, the ConnectPort X4 features a native Python engine for programmability. Python is an object based, open-source programming language for developing customized controlling applications and can be adopted and applied by both embedded developers and Web developers alike. The ConnectPort X4 also includes the Digi Connectware(R) Manager network management platform which provides a one-to-many interface for network configuration and maintenance.
