A leading provider of integrated Event Log Management and Change Management solutions for defense in-depth, Prism Microsystems, announced that EventTracker, its Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution, has been included in the Department of Navy's Application and Database Management System (DADMS), whis is an authoritative list of software applications that are approved for use in all Navy and Marine Corps information technology systems.

Because of its feature-heavy offering that met the criteria of the Navy's application reduction initiative, EventTracker, as the only SIEM solution that is capable of monitoring real-time log data from Solaris BSM systems that are widely used in government agencies, was examined and included in the list. While ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates, EventTracker is already in use at the U.S Navy, Army and Department of Defense and helps these agencies protect their IT assets from a variety of security vulnerabilities.

VP of Marketing at Prism Microsystems Inc., Steve Lafferty, declared: "Federal government agencies face stringent security mandates that require them to ensure the integrity of classified data and prevent unauthorized disclosure. With the ability to analyze, correlate, consolidate and report on massive volumes of event log data from a number of sources including Solaris BSM systems, EventTracker not only helps government agencies and their contractors comply with mandates such as FISMA and NISPOM, but also enables them to establish proactive security strategies that can adapt to constantly evolving threat and audit landscapes".

The EventTracker SIEM solution incorporates features that are important to government organizations such as automated log analysis and long-term log retentionaudit trail protection, automated audit trail creation. EventTracker comes, in addition, integrated with a number of pre-configured reports that are specifically mapped to the requirements of the various regulatory mandates. Another layer of security to ensure that information is being accessed only by users authorized to do so is provided by other features such as tamper proof storage and granular role-based access. Many enjoy additional benefits of operational savings, network optimization and increased availability, while most government agencies use EventTracker to improve their security posture and accelerate their audit responses.
