    Defence R&D Canada choose Third Brigade to provide dynamic risk response research in cyber defence. The company is well-known for the in host intrusion detection and prevention solutions. Defence R&D Canada has been providing scientific research and development of applied technology, for over 60 years and is a leader in the exploitation of wireless and information technologies for defence applications. The agency of the Department of National Defence has a mission to ensure that the CF remains scientifically and operationally relevant. The agency is made up of seven research centres located across Canada with a corporate office in Ottawa. With a broad scientific program, DRDC actively collaborates with industry, international allies, academia, other government departments and the national security community.

    Julie Lefebvre, Network Information Operations, Defence R&D Canada, stated: “Given the dynamic nature of the threat environment and the rate that vulnerabilities are being discovered in computer systems, novel techniques for properly mitigating dynamic risks are a key part of our research program. Partnering with private sector organizations allows us to share and advance security knowledge and expertise in Canada, as well as effectively leverage best practices from industry and other partners in favour of securing our national IT infrastructure.”

    In addition, Brian O’Higgins, Chief Technology Officer, Third Brigade, said: “The Government of Canada continues to stay at the forefront of security through strategic investments that help ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information, as well as the integrity and availability of its computer networks. We are proud to announce this collaborative partnership with Defence R&D Canada. Our research will identify risks and vulnerabilities from multiple sources, develop operational cases based on risk, and help set response policies based on final recommendations.”
