The latest version of SurfBouncer, a personal VPN software service for individuals and small businesses, has just been released.

The need for a secure connection is not just for large business users any longer, as Wi-Fi hot spot usage is exploding. Anyone using a Wi-Fi hot spot needs to have their data protected from prying eyes.

You could see the number of users, when only coffee shops had Wi-Fi, and there wasn't any anonymity. Now there are Hotel, vast Airport, and Municipal Wi-Fi networks sprouting up all over the place. The ability for a person to lurk on the Wi-Fi, and capture clear traffic sent by any laptop user is all too common.

The same type of security as large businesses is needed also by individuals. Enter SurfBouncer. Our technology allows a secure connection from a laptop, Mac, Windows, or Linux to our servers on the internet.
We use technology from Amazon Web Services, to provide the resiliency and the power of Open source to make this possible.

Having the users local IP address replaced by the server IP address are additional benefits of using SurfBouncer. This can play an additional role in preventing identity theft and prevents malicious web sites from obtaining the users address. Because the exit point of the SurfBouncer connection is outside of their country, in places where the internet is not filtered, customers in countries that filter the internet can bypass the censors.

A browser based secure connection, a VPN appliance to secure your entire home or small business network, and a secure parental controls service, include new services being rolled out this year.
