Formed in September 2005 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, ITBrix LLC, has been one of the co-founders and joint owner of Blogtronix LLC, but now the two companies have decided on a friendly separation. As part of the separation, Blogtronix has granted to ITBrix a license over the Blogtronix Enterprise 2.0 platform. Blogtronix will continue with its brand and will focus primarily on large enterprises and the financial sector while ITBrix has begun to modify the platform to appeal to the small and medium business market.
The platform branded as WordFrame Community was now launched by ITBrix which is an enterprise 2.0 solution combining blogs, wikis, social networking, RSS feed aggregation and online file management. With pricing and functionality improvements to suit small and medium enterprises it is aimed at the general market as a start. ITBrix plans to functionally and graphically enhance WordFrame to accommodate the increased demand for Social Media Platforms that can be managed and maintained by the users themselves, as well as covering the group collaboration functionality of the current product. WordFrame Community v1.0 is the first step towards ITBrix's bigger goal of creating WordFrame Enterprise, which will be a completely new and unique Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Web Content Management (WCM) solution for large and medium size commercial organizations, available in 2009.
George Athannassov, ITBrix LLC's head of US operations, said "We have offices in the USA and the UK, and our existing development and support centre based in Bulgaria, has been working with the platform since it started. We already have a partner network covering the USA, Canada, the Bahamas and Europe, and we are looking to expand our coverage in the Asia Pacific region." Bozhidar Zashev, the chief architect of the product, said "The WordFrame Community platform already covers a significant set of enterprise 2.0 functionality out of the box, but we plan a modular approach to expand the product to provide more general web and enterprise content management. We will continue with our Microsoft technology approach to support the performance, scalability, and development productivity we need, and new versions of the product will be designed using .NET Framework 3.5". David Terrar has joined the ITBrix board to help with marketing, business development and International expansion. "I'm excited to become part of the team. I've been using the platform for some time, first as a customer, and then as an enterprise 2.0 solutions provider. WordFrame Community already has some great customers, a clear product roadmap, and a very bright future."
